Made of aluminum, this coin features a round shape with a diameter of 23.5mm and a thickness of 1.85mm. The obverse side of the coin displays the coat of arms of the United Arab Republic, while the reverse side shows the state name, denomination, and year of issue in both Gregorian and Hijri calendar years. The edge of the coin is lettered with the Arabic letters jim, 'ayn, mim, which translates to "jim-'ayn-mim" ¹.
